Preschool Week! The Real Reason.

As much as it might seem that way to my neighbors, we did not decided to homeschool our kids so that every day at three o'clock I would have the opportunity to raise the roof with, "I did not have five kids so that you could fight all day long!" or another of my old standbys.

We did, in fact, decided to homeschool because, quite frankly, if someone is going to be indoctrinating our kids (and someone always is), we really think it should be us. And I know so many wonderful public school families who are successfully undoing any contrary teaching, but I'm really not sure I have the energy for that.

And so, while I could just read the Bible to my kids (and not have to spend another dime on that aspect of their education), I really wanted to find something that they would get...grab onto...and run with. Something that we could not just read in the morning, but talk about all day long. Last year I purchased three toddler Bibles. For the most part, they were awful. This year I have only purchased one, and I may never buy another one (unless my kids destroy this one) for as long as I live.

I love it!

In fact, I haven't loved a Christian kid's product this much since I received a copy of our favorite bedtime CD.

Our morning Bible studies now climax with my jumping to my feet and praising God. Truly, I believe that this simple little book is a must read for every Christian, and a must own for every parent. And I'm sorry that this post reads like one long product review, but that's how excited I am to have finally found a way to not dumb-down, but to beautifully present Jesus to my children.

Whether you homeschool or not, you probably have a favorite way of presenting the Bible in your home. If you would, please share it us!
